Morakot Lanta Resort
Description
A big pool, plenty of loungers and banana-coconut shakes by the water are Morakot’s strongest argument. It sits back from the main road, so the pool area stays quiet while Long Beach and its sunset strip are a short walk away.
The newer M1 rooms are the pick: spacious, bright and cleaner-lined than the older stock, with balconies and proper jungle-facing privacy in some units. Rooms are basic, with firm beds, air-con, hot showers and no decorative nonsense pretending to be a lifestyle choice.
Scooter rental, laundry, boat trips and transfers are handled on site, which removes several small Koh Lanta errands from the day. The restaurant covers easy poolside meals, and the fruit shakes deserve more attention than the sleepy playlist sometimes manages.
Choose Morakot for a low-key Long Beach base with a pool worth using and enough practical backup to settle in for a week. Avoid the older rooms if dated fittings or slippery tiled floors will irritate you; the newer building is the sensible bet.
