Nakara Long Beach Resort
Description
Long Beach is directly outside Nakara’s front edge, with sunset views, soft sand and enough nearby restaurants to keep dinner off-site for a week. The beachfront bungalows are the rooms worth paying attention to, especially the larger units with terraces and partial sea views.
Two sizeable pools break up the beach routine, and the air-conditioned gym covers a basic holiday workout. The grounds are spread out, with broad paths between bungalows. One pool has very little afternoon shade, so sunscreen is not optional unless lobster is the holiday theme.
Breakfast is strongest cooked to order, with set-menu dishes landing better than food held for a buffet. Eat dinner along Long Beach instead; the surrounding strip has cheap Thai food, seafood and sunset bars within an easy walk.
This resort suits travellers who want Long Beach at their doorstep and prefer a bungalow compound over a polished boutique hotel. Rooms and bathrooms are dated in places, shower pressure can be weak, and the far-back bungalows involve a proper walk to the beach.
