Asama Bungalow
Description
Bamboo huts with hammocks and a three-minute walk to Long Beach are the point of Asama Bungalow. The smallest fan huts are little more than a mattress, netting and enough floor to negotiate your luggage, which is exactly why they stay cheap.
Pick a cement bungalow for a more solid room and a private bathroom. The bamboo cottages lean hard into bare-bones island living: fan cooling, firm mattresses, outdoor-style washing, shared bathrooms in some units, and every night soundtrack nature can assemble.
Backpackers and solo travelers get a private hut for dorm-bed money, plus 7-Eleven, restaurants and the beach within easy walking range. Couples who enjoy low-fi stays will be fine too, provided romance does not require air-conditioning and sealed walls.
Book the room type carefully: “cottage” means shared bathroom, while larger units have private facilities. The hammocks are the best furniture here, particularly after a Long Beach swim and before the geckos begin their evening shift.
