N.T. Lanta Resort
Description
Shaded bungalow terraces facing a tree-ringed pool are the best bit here. N.T. Lanta sits just behind Long Beach, close enough for sunset drinks and far enough from the road for the cicadas to win the evening soundtrack.
The bungalows are spacious, private and practical: air-con, fridge, kettle, bathroom and a broad bed with room to sprawl. Interiors are dated and bathrooms are basic, yet the rooms do the job for a budget Long Beach base. Fresh water, coffee and a quick daily tidy-up keep the small details from wandering off into the jungle.
The pool is a useful post-beach refuge, with shade from mature trees and a handful of loungers. It is not a polished resort centrepiece; think cooling dip, book, nap, repeat. The two resident dogs patrol the grounds with the serene confidence of animals who know they have chosen the better accommodation.
Restaurants, a convenience store and the main road are within a short walk, while Long Beach is close by for swimming and beachfront dinners. Rent a motorbike here if you want to cover more of the island, but the immediate Long Beach strip needs no expedition planning.
