Description
Sunset drinks land on beanbags and deck chairs right at the beach edge, with the sea doing most of the decorative work. The Sound Shack is built for lingering through golden hour, not rushing through one pint before dinner.
A mixes the island’s sharpest cocktails, and the happy-hour crowd knows it. The pool table gets proper use, karaoke appears after dark, and the music leans relaxed. Beach BBQ nights add smoke, salt air and the faint possibility that your plans for an early night have drowned quietly offshore.
The beach beside the bar is good for a swim, including with children, and the neighbouring resort pool is available to bar customers. There is also a tattoo artist on site, which is either excellent holiday planning or proof that sunsets impair risk assessment.
Find it from the north by turning right roughly 50 metres after 7-Eleven, then following the small road and path down towards the sand. Stay past sunset: the lights, karaoke and pool table give the place a second life once the beach goes dark.
