Description
Blue margaritas, proper reggae and a pool table that runs straight – Reggae Home & Bar has more going on than the usual beach-road stool-and-speaker arrangement. The drinks lean cocktail-bar, while the soundtrack stays firmly in dub, roots and reggae.
Jame built the room from reclaimed natural materials and beach finds, so every corner has something odd, handmade or faintly pirate-like. Vintage clothes hang around the place too, which gives the bar a useful second purpose for anyone whose luggage consists mainly of damp T-shirts.
Live band nights turn the dance floor loose, and there is enough space to use it without elbowing a stranger into the cocktail menu. Pool players get a serious table.
Klong Khong has plenty of places for a drink; this one earns the stop for music with actual intent and a room made by someone who clearly cared where each piece of driftwood landed.
