Hand-pressed espresso, carefully weighed pour-overs and light-roast iced coffee put The Wild Brew well ahead of the island’s usual caffeine situation. Poon keeps several single-origin beans on hand and treats each cup with the attention normally reserved for a small spacecraft launch.
The jungle setting is half the point. Seats look over trees and hillside greenery, with birds, a stream and enough shade to turn one drink into a long pause. Beanbags, simple wooden seating and backgammon give it the feel of a friend’s unusually competent forest hideout.
Matcha is properly handled here, not powdered green regret in a plastic cup. Coconut coffee, specialty Americanos, oat-milk lattes, iced sodas and croffles cover the non-purist side of the menu without diluting the coffee focus.
The Wild Brew sits on a quiet side road, a little off the main drag, and rewards anyone who cares about beans more than air-con. Poon built the place with his dad, and the hand-brew setup remains the heart of it.
