Description

Massaman curry here has the deep, slow-cooked richness that makes most island versions taste as though they gave up halfway. Add the pork BBQ, Chu Chi curry, or soft rice noodles, and let the kitchen set the spice level properly.

The bamboo pavilion sits back from the road in a leafy garden, with enough space to linger over a Mai Tai, Thai tea, or lemon soda after dinner. It feels cosy without turning into a honeymoon set designed by a furniture catalogue.

Pad Thai with shrimp, pad krapao, papaya salad, Suki Yaki and chicken noodle soup all have a proper following here. Fried quail eggs are the newer snack worth adding, while mango sticky rice is a serious closing argument.

Thai Smile handles mixed tables well: children get fried rice and noodles they will actually finish, while adults can get stuck into curries and sharper Thai flavours. Ask Yier for a recommendation if the menu is causing decision paralysis; the garden tables are the prize seats.
