Som Tum Thai E-San
Description
Chicken fried rice is the plate to chase here: smoky, full-sized and far more convincing than fried rice has any right to be. The dry yellow curry also lands properly, with enough spice and depth to stop it becoming yellow wallpaper.
Som tum Thai, mango salad and cashew chicken cover the sharp, salty, chilli-led side of the menu. Penang curry and seafood pad Thai handle the comfort-food end, while banana in coconut milk is worth saving room for. Thai-level prices keep this firmly in regular-lunch territory.
The place sits beside Na Vella Villas, in a simple roadside setup with cats patrolling the edges of the dining area. Halal food is available, and there is a separate room for salah. Grilled chicken comes off the charcoal later in the morning, so an early arrival gets you the menu but misses one of its better reasons to stop.
Keep the order rooted in Thai and Isaan cooking. The mango salad and dry yellow curry have more character than the standard tourist-menu fillers, and the fried rice has enough muscle to become a repeat order.
