Siam Home Cafe & Bakery
Description
Chocolate salted caramel cheesecake, lemon bars and carrot cake sit in the fridge waiting to ruin your plans for a quick coffee. Siam Home is a family-run garden cafe down a forest lane, with homemade baking that lands far above the usual island cake counter.
Pick a slice, settle under the plants, and let the playlist do its thing. Moby, Massive Attack and old rock drift through a room full of odd little details, while chickens, ducks and cats wander the garden. Monkeys also pass through, because Koh Lanta occasionally refuses to behave like a normal island.
The coffee holds up properly, including cappuccinos and lattes, and jasmine tea appears alongside the cakes. Coconut pie, mocha cashew cake and chocolate caramel are serious reasons to make the detour; the lemon cheesecake has no interest in being subtle either.
This place rewards an unhurried afternoon, a book, and a motorbike that can handle a rural turnoff. The garden tables are the prize near sundown, with jungle shade, flowers and a cake fridge that has caused more than one second visit.
