Rosy Sunray Cafe
Description
Real maple syrup on the pancakes puts Rosy Sunray ahead of the island’s usual bottle-of-sugar-water breakfast routine. French toast, breakfast bowls, mushroom toast with sweet sesame dressing, and properly filling brunch plates give the menu more ambition than a standard coffee stop.
Coffee is the other strong suit. The coconut latte, mocha frappe and hot matcha all land well, and the matcha with maple syrup has become the slightly odd combination that works far better than it has any right to.
Inside is cool with air-conditioning, good tables, plugs and enough tucked-away seats to read or open a laptop. The terrace looks into greenery, with monkeys occasionally appearing in the background – nature’s least reliable table entertainment.
Borrow or browse a book, settle in with a shake, and avoid the Bolognese. Rosy Sunray is for long breakfasts, coffee breaks and laptop afternoons; it is not the place to rush a quick meal. Cash only, with an ATM a short walk away.
