Breakfast is the strongest card: build a full English with bacon, beans, eggs, sourdough toast and even Lorne sausage. French toast with syrup and bacon handles the sweet-and-salty route, while yogurt, granola and fruit keeps things lighter without turning breakfast into punishment.
The burger is one of the island’s better versions – large, properly filled, and worth crossing the road from the pier for. Fish and chips, crisp calamari, fresh spring rolls and guacamole cover the Western cravings. Thai cooking holds its own: pork leg stew with rice, tom yum noodles, moo yang nam tok, yam nua yang and shrimp fried rice all have a proper place here.
Give the kitchen time, especially with a group or a ferry to catch. The deck looks across the water and passing boats, with big screens inside for sport; it is a pier bar, breakfast joint and dinner stop that has somehow avoided becoming dreadful at any of them.
