The bar sits straight on the beach, with sun and shade seats for a slow afternoon, then oldies and laid-back tunes after dark. It stays relaxed rather than turning into a sand-floor disco, which is a merciful public service.
Cocktails get the attention here, with a broad happy-hour list and proper fruit flavours in the daiquiris and mojitos. Mango smoothies suit daytime; Chang and lime juice cover the less theatrical end of drinking. Beer is outside the cocktail deal.
Food comes over from Rak next door. Stick to fried scampi, calamari, local pancake, green curry and Tom yum fried rice; they fit the beach-bar setting far better than a grand Thai-food investigation. Grab a sea-facing chair before sunset, because that view is why Majestic keeps pulling people back night after night.
