Ma Lanta House
Description
Bamboo Beach sits below the pool, with a wide sea view from the hillside rooms and garden. The walk down is short and steep; Jark Beach is close too, so this southern-end location has more sand than traffic.
Rooms are simple, air-conditioned, and equipped with a fridge and kettle. The setting is quiet enough for long stays, with the national park a short scooter ride away and very little reason to rush anywhere.
Across the road, the same family runs the restaurant, and that is not a token hotel kitchen. Fresh Thai food, cold drinks, and a terrace facing Bamboo Beach turn dinner into the evening plan. Check in there, then linger over a meal while the light drops over the bay.
Ma Lanta House suits couples and solo travelers who want the far south, beach walks, and a pool with a proper view. It is well away from Saladan and the busier west-coast strips; a scooter or car is the sensible arrangement, and the hill road demands a steady hand from new riders.
