Long Le Noodle
Description
The beef noodle soup has a rich, properly developed broth, not the pale hot-water-with-regrets version found at too many roadside stalls. Chicken is also available, and both bowls arrive with fresh ingredients and enough substance to count as lunch.
Pad Thai and fried rice hold their own here, which is useful if one member of the table regards soup as a personal insult. Fresh juice cuts through the heat neatly, and the cooking stays in the home-style Thai lane: direct flavours, satisfying portions, no decorative nonsense.
The shop is small, plain and easy to misjudge from the road. Ignore the modest frontage; the bowl is doing far more work than the building. Ja-iad Phrukrom Noodle Shop is the Thai name, useful when asking around or trying to locate it without conducting a minor island expedition.
This is for Foodies and Budget diners who want a strong local noodle lunch over polished beach-road dining. The pad Thai is worth returning for, but the beef broth is the reason Long Le Noodle belongs on a Lanta eating list.
