Long Beach
Description
Three kilometres of pale sand, a broad shallow shore, and sunsets that turn the Andaman into the island’s nightly free show. Long Beach is Koh Lanta’s best all-round stretch for swimming, long walks and choosing dinner after your feet have collected half the beach.
The northern end carries the most resorts, beach bars and restaurant tables. Walk south and the buildings thin out, the sand opens up, and the quieter sections feel properly distant from Saladan without requiring a survival documentary.
The central section has soft sand and easy water entry, with enough room for a morning run or a lazy float. The far southern end has rocks in the water, so keep swimming to the main sandy stretch and use the south for a sunset walk.
Shade is limited across much of the beach, especially away from beachfront businesses. Bring cover for the middle of the day, then settle in around late afternoon for the long, level horizon and the best light on the island.
