Lantasure Restaurant
Description
Yellow curry with chicken is the plate to chase here: thick, warm, properly spiced, and built for anyone who wants more than coconut milk with a vague orange opinion. Panang curry and cashew chicken keep the same full-flavoured approach, while the fried pad see ew with shrimp arrives as a generous, smoky stir-fry.
The menu travels well beyond curries. Chicken pad Thai, papaya salad, fried rice, fish fillet, banana pancakes and mango sticky rice cover the usual holiday cravings without turning the place into a culinary theme park. The mango shake is dense with ripe fruit, and the fresh coconut is worth taking to the table.
Vegetarian and vegan meals get proper attention here, with fried noodles, chilli paste and curry easily prepared without animal products. Spice can be toned down too, which is useful after a few days of discovering that Thai “medium” has its own geology.
Lantasure sits opposite the large 7-Eleven on the road, with inexpensive Thai food and a broad enough menu for mixed groups. Dao is the person to ask when you need a vegan dish sorted clearly, and the homemade nuggets give children a far better dinner than another beige box.
