Lanta Noodles
Description
Black boat-noodle broth, tender beef, morning glory and a fistful of herbs are the whole point at Lanta Noodles. The beef bowl has a deep, slightly sweet richness that holds up against chilli, sour sauce and fresh bean sprouts.
Chicken and tofu versions keep the same compact formula, with homemade-style noodles and greens piled into the bowl. There is also a dry chicken noodle option, plus a good sweet lemon iced tea for cooling down after misjudging the chilli flakes. Those flakes are not decorative – they have plans.
The room is plain, bright and built for eating. A picture menu on the wall covers the essentials, and limited English is no obstacle once you point at beef, chicken or tofu.
Portions sit at lunch size, so a second bowl is the sensible response for hungry adults. This is Sala Dan’s proper quick noodle stop: rich broth, halal food, no ornamental nonsense, and beef noodles worth repeating.
