Lanta Meeting Point
Description
Steamed fish with lime, spicy shrimp salad and a properly sharp tom kha soup are the food to chase here. Mama’s Thai cooking comes out hot, fragrant and more serious than the beach-bar setting initially lets on.
Tables sit directly on Klong Khong Beach with a clean sunset view and Thai music drifting across the sand. Candles appear after dark, and the place stays relaxed enough for a long dinner or a few cocktails without turning into a neon audition.
Cocktails are cheap during the late-afternoon happy-hour stretch, with mai tais and banana cocktails getting plenty of attention. Roasted peanuts, cold Chang, beach dogs and the occasional cat complete the scene – civilisation has peaked at plastic chairs facing the sea.
Oy, Bee and Lek run a small family spot with a lived-in, local feel. Walk to the quieter end of Klong Khong for grilled fish, cashew chicken and sunset drinks; it is the beach bar to pick when dinner matters as much as the horizon.
