Laem Kho Kwang Beach
Description
The narrow northern spit at Laem Kho Kwang puts sea on both sides, with a long sandy shore facing the sunset. It is one of Koh Lanta’s best places for doing almost nothing very well.
The west-facing beach is broad, quiet and soft underfoot, with shallow water that suits a quick dip at mid tide. Bring your own shade: palms are scattered and the open sand gets properly hot by midday. Low tide pulls the water back over muddy flats, so save serious swimming for higher water.
The point itself earns a stop near sunset, especially for a short walk and photos across both coasts. Food and drink carts appear along the strip, and a few beachfront restaurants cover the practical matter of not watching a sunset on an empty stomach.
Laem Kho Kwang has none of Long Beach’s busy frontage or constant soundtrack. It feels local, loose and pleasantly unfinished – a strip of land that forgot to become a resort development.
