The produce is the draw: fruit, vegetables, sprouts, tofu, eggs and herbs kept cool away from the heat. Fish and shrimp sit on ice, so it handles a Thai dinner shop better than a convenience store with three lonely tomatoes near the till.

Stock up here before cooking at your villa or bungalow. The cold coconut and durian popsicle are excellent ammunition for the ride home, especially after wrestling with Koh Lanta’s afternoon heat.
