Description
Red curry with fish arrives loaded with herbs, fresh aromatics and properly tender chunks of fish, which is exactly where Kansa should focus its energy. The Thai menu carries this place: papaya salad, tomato soup, spaghetti bolognese, fried rice and fresh barbecue fish all have a better case than the sandwiches or pizza.
Tables face the beach, with the bay and sunset doing the sort of work no interior designer can invoice for. The room is earthy and relaxed, right beside the sand, and suits a long, alcohol-free dinner with shakes or an iced coconut coffee.
Kansa is halal, with no pork and no alcohol. That matters for Muslim travellers and families, and it gives the place a calmer evening rhythm than the bars further along the beach.
Avoid the pizza, baguettes and beef fried rice; they are the weak links in a menu that otherwise has several good Thai anchors. Pick a waterfront table, stick to curry, salad or grilled fish, and let the sunset cover the minor sins of civilisation.
