Description
The standard doubles at Jetty Place give you a huge bed, cold air conditioning, a fridge and enough floor space to open two bags without negotiating a border treaty. It is practical Saladan accommodation, built for sleeping well between ferries, scooter laps and late bowls from the market.
The location does plenty of the work. Saladan Pier is close, the street-food market sits behind the building, and 7-Eleven is across the road. Restaurants line the surrounding streets, while the quieter beach is a short walk away.
Rooms are clean, spacious and quiet, with a kitchenette setup that stops at the cupboards. There are no plates, bowls, pans or cutlery, so save the self-catering fantasy for a place with at least one spoon. Scooter rental and boat-ticket arrangements keep the useful bits under one roof.
Book a room with an exterior window if daylight matters. The basic rooms have little or no natural light, and the building has almost nowhere for a group to sit together outside the room. Jetty Place lands best as a sharp-value base for a couple of nights around Saladan, with the night market close enough to make dinner decisions wonderfully difficult.
