The Secret Wrap earns its theatrical name, though the real trick is the sauces. Tangy passionfruit dip, homemade bread, crispy tofu and properly substantial fillings turn this little vegan kitchen into a serious dinner stop. The Tom Yum burger and classic vegan burger also land with enough spice and texture to keep carnivores quiet for several minutes.
Chef Ae makes the food fresh, and the menu has a playful habit of combining Thai curry, burgers, bruschetta and fruit without becoming a culinary ransom note. Pancakes, mushroom omelette, BBQ skewers and apple-ginger mocktails give repeat visits some range.
Home No. 8 has only a handful of tables beside the busy road, so it feels more like eating at a friend’s compact front room than settling into a long, polished restaurant evening. The portions are huge; ordering four dishes for two is how leftovers acquire a holiday.
