Description
The croissant arrives hot, properly buttery and flaky, with homemade mango jam that deserves more respect than most hotel breakfast buffets. Fresh bread comes from the kitchen too, including a sourdough baguette with the crackly crust Koh Lanta breakfast tables often forget exists.
Eggs and bacon are handled with care, coffee is freshly made, and the breakfast sets are filling without turning the morning into a recovery operation. The cheese and butter have actual flavour, which sounds obvious until you have spent a fortnight eating the island version of “continental.”
Lunch has more ambition than the little roadside setup suggests. Sandwiches lean on that excellent baguette, while Alex’s pizzas use bolder combinations than the usual ham-and-mushroom peace treaty. Go for pizza after a beach day, but give breakfast the first claim on your stomach.
A small garden behind the restaurant has books and a quiet corner for lingering over coffee. It sits beside the laundry, so a croissant and a wash can be achieved in one stop – civilisation clings on.
