Description
A ring made at Silvergypsie leaves Koh Lanta with your fingerprints all over it – literally. Tak guides small jewellery workshops through cutting, shaping and finishing silver, with stones and designs chosen on the day. Couples have made wedding rings here; solo makers leave with a pendant or ring that beats another fridge magnet by several country miles.
The shop on the Klong Nin beach road is packed with handmade silver: slim toe rings, chunky stone-set rings, bracelets, necklaces and ocean-shaped pieces. Turquoise features heavily, alongside a proper spread of stones, and the designs avoid the souvenir-shop curse of looking like they were invented during a power cut.
Custom work is the other strong suit. Bring a sketch, choose a stone, or point at an existing piece and change the details. Tak handles the silversmithing with careful precision, while Jessica keeps the place feeling like a working studio.
Book the workshop before building your beach day around it; spaces are limited and an afternoon at the bench disappears fast. The best browsing happens slowly, because the ring drawer is where good intentions go to die.
