Ban Lo Yai Fishing Pier
Description
Koh Talabeng sits across the water from Ban Lo Yai Fishing Pier, with limestone islands scattered beyond it and fishing lines running along the rail. The view is strongest late afternoon, when the bay goes quiet and the boats return.
A small cafe and restaurant sit at the road end beside the pier, doing simple seafood, coffee and cold drinks. Park a scooter by the restaurant, take a seat facing the water, and watch schools of fish circle below the boards. It is not a polished attraction – it is a working village pier with a very good horizon.
Longtail trips leave from here for the nearby islands, including Koh Talabeng. Captain Noi is the name to ask for if you want to turn a pier stop into a proper boat afternoon.
The alternative scooter route through Koh Lanta Noi is half the point, with coastal views and far less traffic than the main island roads. Bring a camera for the islands, then stay long enough for the fishermen to make the scene feel less like a postcard and more like Tuesday.
