Lighthouse Koh Lanta
Description
The red-and-white lighthouse sits on Koh Lanta’s southern tip, above two bays and a shelf of black rocks that gets properly dramatic near sunset. The tower stays closed, but the viewpoint beside it delivers the postcard without needing a drone or a mountaineering sponsorship.
A short path from the park beach reaches the lighthouse in minutes. The longer nature trail takes 30 to 45 minutes and starts with a steep uphill pull, including a rope-assisted section. Give it three hours if you’re doing the trail, swimming, and lingering over the headland views.
Waterfall Bay below is quiet, gently sloping, and backed by proper forest. The water turns rocky in places, and jellyfish are a reason to stay on the sand, not an invitation to test marine diplomacy.
The road into Mu Ko Lanta National Park is steep, especially on the ride back out. A stronger scooter matters with two aboard, and the guardhouse takes cash. Keep children close around the cliff edges and loose rocks; the sunset photos are better with everyone still attached to the group.
