Description

Soft sand, a broad sweep of bay and the cliff at the north end make Kantiang Bay one of Lanta’s better beach days. It feels properly spacious, with room to spread out without becoming a human towel catalogue.

The north end has smaller waves and afternoon shade from the headland. Swimming is calmer there, though rocks sit beneath the surface farther out and jellyfish appear in season. Keep footwear nearby; bare feet are brilliant until geology joins the conversation.

A handful of beachfront bars and restaurants cover cold drinks, lunch and sunset sitting. The bay has boats moored offshore and a simple pier structure cutting into the water, so choose the northern stretch for the quieter view.

Arrive by scooter, not car. The lane has no car parking at the beach, while motorbike spaces are limited. Bring shade for the central and southern sand, where the sun has a clear run at you and no trees feel obliged to intervene.
