Description

The park area beneath Sirilanta Bridge is built for a slow hour with kids, cicadas and a bit of sea air, not a grand expedition. A floating pontoon pier stretches out from the shore, and children have room to run before the bridge traffic resumes its campaign against tranquillity.

Cicadas are the best entertainment here, especially when one is shedding its old skin on a tree trunk. The camping area sits nearby, with simple open space around it and the bridge rising overhead. It feels more like a roadside nature stop than a full national-park day.

Find it at the mainland-side foot of Sirilanta Bridge, on the right before the climb onto the bridge. The pier has open edges and water below, so small children need close watching.

Bring a camera with a decent close-focus setting for the cicadas; the real detail is in the wings and the empty shells left on the bark.
