Hin Ngam Beach
Description
Low tide turns Hin Ngam Beach into a rocky shoreline walk, with Koh Raeng sitting just off the cape. The gap looks modest from shore, but the channel runs deep and fast, with boulders on both sides. Walk across only where the exposed route is clear; swimming over is a thoroughly unnecessary audition for bad ideas.
The coastline starts among sparse mangroves, then follows dark rocks and small cliffs toward a viewpoint at the cape’s end. Sunset lands well here, especially with cloud cover, rock pools and the little island in frame. Bring a camera or a phone with room for too many nearly identical sky photos.
This is Koh Lanta’s quiet north-west edge, about 500 metres beyond Klong Khong Beach, and it suits a scooter detour more than a full beach day. There is little sand, no dependable swimming, and the rocks punish flip-flop optimism. Solid shoes make the walk far less theatrical.
The best shots sit near the cape at low tide, where the rocks, mangroves and Koh Raeng line up without another beach bar in the frame.
