Five Star fried chicken at the front, toasted sandwiches at the counter, and a few air-conditioned window seats make this the most useful 7-Eleven on Klong Dao. It is one of the island’s larger branches, with room to eat a heated burger or rice dish before returning to the heat outside.
The shelves cover the practical holiday arsenal: bottled water, beer, cigarettes, snacks, instant noodles, chilled drinks and the strange pleasure of buying far more seaweed than any adult needs. There is an ATM inside, plus an espresso counter for coffee without hunting down a cafe.
The best snack combination is a toasted ham-and-cheese sandwich with Five Star chicken, then something cold from the fridge. Mango salad and the heated burgers are solid emergency meals, especially after a late ferry, a long beach day, or a motorbike ride involving more sun than planning.
Use the window counter for hot food; it is one of the few convenience-store seats on the island that does not feel borrowed from a bus station. The outside food stalls add useful backup when the sandwich toaster has already done enough public service for one evening.
