Boomerang Restaurant & Bungalows
Description
Green curry with proper heat, som tam, and sunset across the full sweep of Klong Dao Beach are the reasons Boomerang keeps pulling diners back. Ask for Thai spice if that is your plan; the kitchen handles yellow curry, red chicken curry and tom yum with far more conviction than a timid Pad Thai.
The beach-facing tables sit at the quieter end of Klong Dao, with sand underfoot and a long view toward the northern curve of the bay. It is close to the road, though traffic is light enough that the sunset still gets top billing. Fruit shakes arrive without added sugar, which feels almost subversive after a week of liquid dessert.
Families should take the hanging mats, toys and small beach play area seriously. Phet’s setup gives toddlers somewhere to burn energy while adults get through a curry before it turns into a rescue operation.
Chicken with garlic and pepper, chicken satay, beef noodle soup and papaya seafood salad all hold up for a casual lunch. Book a beach table before sunset; the sand-side seats are the point, and the street-side ones are merely chairs with ambitions.
