Altar Of Kalypso
Description
Silver wire-wrapped rings, Tree of Life pendants and gemstone necklaces fill this small boutique just past the post office. Kevin’s metalwork has fine, branching detail that turns a souvenir into something you’ll keep wearing after the tan has packed up and left.
Naan brings a different hand to the shop: drawings, jewellery and custom shell pieces made from treasures brought in from the beach. Her mother’s soft children’s clothes are worth a look too, especially if small humans need something more interesting than another elephant-print vest.
Custom work gives the place its edge. Rings can be made to size, and there is space to sit down and build a beaded bracelet. Asian artefacts and incense sit among the silverwork, so leave room in your brain for more than necklaces.
Jewellery hunters should stop here before settling for the standard market display. The Tree of Life medallions and wrapped-stone pendants carry the strongest signature of the place.
