Description
A hammock in the room, cold drinking water in the lobby, and a garden-facing terrace put DOX well above the standard Khlong Khong crash pad. Private rooms feel closer to compact hotel rooms, with large beds, proper air-con, mini fridges and modern bathrooms.
The industrial concrete-and-raw-material design could have gone full warehouse, yet the open lounge lands somewhere calmer. Hammocks, low music, laptop corners and a small bar give it a social centre without turning bedtime into a festival of doors and regret.
Food is a stronger reason to linger than most hostels manage. The chicken pita, soup and fresh tea deserve attention, and the kitchen keeps the daytime menu focused. Sven and Sunny also sort scooters, island trips and airport transfers, which removes several small logistical chores from the holiday.
Khlong Khong’s beach bars, gym, convenience shops and roadside food are within walking distance, while the central west-coast position puts Saladan and the southern beaches within easy riding range. The rooms are compact in places and sound carries, so light sleepers should take a private room.
