Charlee Barley's
Description
Beach mats at Charlee Barley’s sit close enough to the tide that the front row feels properly seaside, not seaside-themed. Settle in for sunset with a mojito or Bloody Mary, then stay after dark for the fire show.
The pad Thai is the food to back here, especially with extra chilli, alongside shrimp spring rolls or the substantial prawn cocktail. Thai curries, fruit plates and carrot smoothies cover the daytime side of things, while cold beers handle the less complicated agenda.
This is a long-afternoon bar first and a dinner stop second. The kitchen can move at beach pace, so don’t arrive starving and expect military precision – the sea has never shown much interest in scheduling.
The beach in front is sandy enough for swimming without picking a route through rocks, and the sunset-facing mats are the seats to claim. Charlee Barley’s is for cocktails, bare feet and a few unhurried hours watching the Andaman turn orange.
