Passion fruit mojitos, pineapple fried rice and a sunset seat on the sand are the three things Krit does better than most of this stretch. The bar sits right on the beach, with loungers, umbrellas and enough room to turn lunch into a long, pleasantly unproductive afternoon.
The Thai food has proper range, but go straight for the pineapple fried rice with beef or chicken, papaya salad, green curry, Panang curry and grilled fish. Fresh seafood is the sensible choice here, along with mango or pineapple shakes when the heat has won the argument.
Krit’s is low-key, beach benches, sand underfoot and lights coming on after dusk. Swim at high tide, settle in for sunset, then stay for dinner under the stars. The self-made chairs favour short stays over a full spinal commitment (beach furniture has never been governed by ergonomics).
It suits anyone who wants Thai cooking and cocktails without leaving the shoreline. The pork with onion and chicken satay with fries are not the orders to build an evening around; keep it Thai, seafood-heavy and fruit-powered.
