Pearl's Shakes
Description
Mango, banana and lemon shakes are the obvious starting point at Pearl’s, but the lemon basil pineapple blend is the one that earns a second visit. Everything arrives cold, thick and properly fruit-forward, without turning into a syrupy neon puddle.
Pad Thai has serious form here, with a Thai omelette worth adding if you have spent too long surviving on toast and good intentions. The Thai milk tea comes lightly sweetened with cinnamon, while the peach-lychee tea is the sleeper hit for anyone bored of another bottled drink from a fridge.
The little Old Town café keeps things calm: chilled music, cold cappuccinos, a resident cat and enough space to sit with a coffee. Free Wi-Fi helps, though the cat contributes little to bandwidth management.
Pearl’s is for a relaxed breakfast, lunch or shake stop between Old Town wandering and whatever photo mission has seized the day. The drinks are the reason to stop; the Pad Thai is why lunch quietly becomes the plan.
