Mango lassi arrives thick with a whole mango’s worth of fruit and yoghurt, which explains why it tastes like fruit. Pair it with mango roti and coconut ice cream, then claim a wooden table on the back deck above the bay.
Sepia House is one of Lanta Old Town’s better all-day stops for coffee, Thai food and a long sit. Espresso, cappuccino and iced lattes are properly handled, while the Thai iced tea has the fragrant, creamy depth most versions promise and rarely deliver. The cocoa tea is worth trying too: smooth, lightly chocolatey, and not remotely a hot chocolate in disguise.
The kitchen goes beyond cafe filler. Seafood pad Thai comes generously loaded, chicken pad Thai has real substance, and the shrimp dishes bring a proper chilli hit. Pizza, chicken steak and absurdly good fries cover the days when noodles seem too much like effort.
Inside, air-conditioning, plug points and living-room furniture make this a strong Old Town work base. Outside, shaded deck seats catch the bay breeze; head upstairs for the rooftop terrace and sea view. The building is a stilted old wooden house, so the whole operation has more character than another polished concrete coffee box.
