Description

A jungle river, boulder-hopping and a pitch-black limestone cave are the point here. Tiger Cave is for proper muddy-footed exploring, not the Krabi Tiger Cave Temple with its staircase, Buddha statues and summit view – that is a different trip entirely.

The route starts beyond the reservoir and follows the water through dense forest. Ropes appear on parts of the trail, then the jungle takes over: river crossings, slick rocks, fallen trees, steep ladders and a short crawl through the cave. Wear shoes with grip, carry water, and keep both hands free.

Inside, the cave is compact rather than cathedral-sized, with big spiders, wet limestone and a tiger-head-shaped rock among the formations. A headlamp matters once daylight disappears; phone torches make poor expedition equipment, as humanity keeps discovering.

The small waterfall and river swimming spot earn more of the afternoon than the cave itself. Families with very young children can manage the shorter jungle walk, but the slippery sections and unmarked route rule out flip-flops, heavy rain, and anyone expecting a polished attraction.
