Description

Massaman curry and the chicken roti roll are the orders that matter at Boomerang. Both land with proper Thai flavour, and the menu stays affordable enough to leave room for a beer while the sun drops into the Andaman.

The front tables face the beach directly, with sunset doing most of the decorating. Settle in before dusk for the clear view, music, and a glass from a surprisingly well-chosen wine list. The cocktails are the weak link, so keep the drink plan simple.

Thai dishes carry this place better than the Indian-labelled section. The chicken biryani arrives closer to chicken curry with rice, which is a culinary passport-control issue. Vegetarian coconut soup is sparse, with firm tofu, onions and mushrooms doing very little to justify the label.

Boomerang suits a sunset dinner built around curry, roti and the beach-facing seats, not a forensic tour of every corner of the menu. The first row along the sand is the whole point; protect that table as fiercely as the restaurant does.
