Description

Massaman curry made with herbs and spices from the garden is the reason to stop here, even without a room key. The kitchen leans into proper homemade food: masala, curries and fruit shakes in a palm-grove setting that feels pleasantly removed from the island’s busier strips.

The bungalows are basic wooden huts with a small porch, hammock and toilet tucked behind the room. Camping is also part of the setup. Expect simple sleeping arrangements, no air conditioning, no hot water and no sink; this is low-cost island living with a roof, a hammock and very few unnecessary negotiations with modernity.

Old Town sits nearby, though the area goes quiet early at night. The property itself is close to a busy road, and the open bungalow design lets traffic noise straight into the room until late.

Foodies on a budget should treat it as a lunch stop or a no-frills base with unusually good cooking. The garden herbs do more work than half the island’s decorative basil pots.
