Tree In The Sea Resort
Description
Sunrise lands straight in front of the bungalows here, with the sea a few metres from the terrace and no staircase negotiation before coffee. Tree In The Sea sits on Koh Lanta’s quiet south side, where the soundtrack is water, birds and the occasional chicken with senior management energy.
The bungalows are simple, clean and private, each with its own bathroom and mosquito protection. This is for switching off, reading too long, and waking up before dawn because the view has made a compelling argument.
Su cooks proper Thai food on site, including a Pad Thai worth learning to make, and the little restaurant keeps the stay pleasantly self-contained. There are a few places to eat within walking distance, though a scooter opens up Old Town, the national park and the rest of the island.
Khlong Chak Waterfall is close by, and the roads through the south are scenic but bumpy. Saladan Pier is a long drive away, so arrange transport or collect a scooter before settling into the far end of Lanta.
