Description
Green chicken curry, roti and fruit shakes are the reason to eat here, not merely linger over a sunset drink. Thai dishes land well; the Western side of the menu is background music. Wine costs enough to make beer look like sound fiscal planning.
The bar sits on a quiet curve of Kantiang Bay, close to Pimalai, with tables, low beach seating and beanbags scattered above the sand. Walk straight from the bar into the water, or snorkel around the rocky end of the bay where coral and fish sit close to shore.
Evenings turn louder after dark. Live bands work through Bob Marley, Tracy Chapman and sing-along classics, with DJs taking over on busier nights. The fire show brings a proper crowd and a lot of flames near bare feet – Koh Lanta’s preferred risk assessment.
Why Not Bar suits beach-bar regulars, casual snorkellers and anyone happy to let dinner run into music. Take a beach-facing seat near the rocky end for the best view across Kantiang Bay.
