Description

Black rocks pinch Nui Beach into a small golden cove, with Nui Beach Bar’s loungers and awnings planted right where the shade matters. It is the place to spend a long afternoon without inventing a complicated itinerary for it.

Mojitos and gin and tonics suit the job, and the cocktails stay cheap enough for a second round. Pineapple fried rice is fragrant, home-style, and precisely the sort of lunch that improves after a swim. The bar sits beside a restaurant, so food and drinks cover the day without leaving the sand.

Masks and snorkels are available for the rocky edges of the bay. A volleyball net gives groups something to do between swims, while everyone else can remain horizontal with considerable commitment.

Sunset belongs here. The cove narrows the view into a frame of dark rock and open Andaman water, and the music gives the beach a social pulse through the afternoon. Bass carries across the sand, so this is for cocktails, company and a bit of soundtrack, not whisper-quiet reading.
