Description
The long freshwater pool runs almost to Klong Nin Beach, so pool-access rooms let you step from your terrace into the water before breakfast. Beachfront bungalows have their own sunbeds and a quieter strip of sand, which is the point of paying for the front row.
The rooms are spacious, with proper beds, big bathrooms and plenty of shade outside. Interiors are rustic and dated in places, so book this for sea air, swimming and an easy-going beach base, not polished resort design.
The attached beach restaurant does useful holiday work: Tom Yum, papaya salad, seafood barbecue, pina coladas and sunset drinks without leaving the sand. Ask for the pina colada without syrup; it avoids tasting like a melted sweet shop.
Klong Nin is good for long beach walks and swimming at high tide, and the resort can sort scooters, laundry, island trips and airport transport. Pick a beachfront bungalow or pool-access room – the inland rooms miss the whole argument for staying here.
