Description
Garlic aioli prawns, bruschetta and proper pizza are the sensible reason to stop at Breeze Bungalows. The beach bar also turns out good cocktails, with sunset straight across Khlong Dao’s wide sand.
The restaurant leans Spanish tapas, so plates arrive smaller than a Thai sharing feast. That suits a long, lazy beach session with a few dishes and drinks. The pizzas have a better reputation here than most beach-bar pizza attempts, which often resemble cheese having a difficult afternoon.
Bungalows sit right by the water, with air conditioning and private bathrooms in some rooms. They are simple wooden or palm-thatched huts, not polished resort rooms, and sound travels briskly through the walls. Sand, motorbikes and neighbouring conversations all make their way into the experience.
Pick Breeze for the beachfront bar, sunset seats and tapas-led food. The beach itself is broad enough for an afternoon of swimming, reading and gradually losing track of which cocktail was supposedly the last one.
