The iced roasted almond latte is Mogus’s calling card: proper espresso, smooth Thai beans and a nutty finish that doesn’t taste like liquid marzipan. The berry yoghurt smoothie is equally good on a hot afternoon, cold and sharp enough to reset a dusty scooter brain.
A grassy outdoor plot behind the roadside frontage holds tables, beanbags, palms and a projector. Coffee takes centre stage, then the fridge produces a craft beer selection with far more choices than the average island cafe has any right to stock.
Families get a sandpit, toys and enough lawn for a small football match, while adults can keep a coffee or beer within reach. The sandpit is fully exposed to the sun, so it is better saved for later in the day (tiny feet have no interest in becoming experimental cookware).
Mogus fits a long, unhurried stop between beach plans, especially for anyone bored of thin iced coffee in plastic cups. The espresso machine is doing serious work here, and the roasted almond latte is the drink that proves it.
