The Sea Grill & Shabu
Description
Two bubbling broths, a tabletop grill and trays of pork, beef, fish, vegetables and noodles turn dinner here into a proper project. The pork and beef deserve first claim on the grill, while the seafood belongs in the pot with whichever soup combination takes your fancy.
The all-you-can-eat format is the draw, with rice, vegetables, noodles and meat set up for a long, hands-on dinner. Sauces and drinks sit ready to choose, and there are set menus plus a la carte dishes for anyone unwilling to turn supper into a small construction site.
Korean-style shabu and grill is a useful break from the island’s endless curry-and-seafood loop. The room is fresh, bright and still has that newly opened shine, next to the Muay Thai arena, so it fits neatly before a fight night.
Thai is the working language, though the cooking setup needs little diplomacy once the pot starts steaming. Ask Nun for the local Muay Thai training pointers; he knows the ring-side neighbourhood better than a menu ever could.
