Kao Soi Long Beach
Description
Crispy chicken khao soi lands with a deep curry broth, proper noodles, and enough fried crunch to keep the bowl lively to the last spoonful. The tofu version holds its own too, which is rare enough to warrant a tiny brass band.
Duck massaman, prawns in yellow curry, grilled prawns with vegetables, and steamed fish with garlic and lime push the menu well beyond its name. Northern Thai bits include Chiang Mai sausage and nam prik ong, the pork-and-tomato chilli dip that disappears faster than planned.
The open-air courtyard sits down the side lane towards Ozone from the main road. Low-key music, good fruit shakes, and cocktails give dinner some polish without turning it into a beach-club production; the lychee margarita is the one to pick.
Mango sticky rice and panna cotta deserve room at the end, particularly after the richer curries. Foodies and vegetarians get the strongest deal here: Thai cooking with sharp flavour, colourful plates, and far more imagination than another routine pad thai.
